Natalie Beissel Scholarship
The Natalie Beissel Scholarship honors Natalie Beissel who was a fourth year medical student at ATSU’s SOMA when her life was taken tragically in an act of domestic violence on July 30, 2015. Her GPA was in the top 10% of her class and she planned to pursue Internal Medicine Residency Programs at the time of her death. She was well respected by both her superiors and classmates for her leadership and interpersonal skills. This award honors Natalie’s dedication to the study of the human body and her passion for caring for others.
The scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a a 3rd or 4th year medical student enrolled in the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (SOMA). Annually, at least one award will be given in the amount of $2,500 (based on available funds). Applicants must be duly enrolled in ATSU in the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (SOMA) in the year the award is made and be considered in good academic standing. Domestic Abuse Project
Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) dedicates its resources to breaking the cycle of violence and helping families transform to healthy and safe relationships. DAP envisions a community free from violence. They seek to permanently break the cycle of family violence by leading societal change and by providing men, women and children with essential tools needed to eliminate violence in their lives.
